DLBP joins Women Talk Real Estate Speakers' Café event

Rebekah Gibson, Senior Planner, had the pleasure of attending yesterday's Diversity Talks Real Estate Speakers’ Café event, hosted by BDO.

The event presented a wonderful opportunity for female real estate professionals to come together to practice public speaking, and learn about the latest market trends.

During the panel discussions, Rachel Ferguson at Pocket Living spoke of the lengthy delays in securing planning permission and the many stringent regulations that must be overcome before delivering much needed affordable homes for first-time buyers.

The panel also discussed the need to better connect developers and policy makers to forge partnerships enabling the delivery of new development that is both economically viable and effective at contributing positively to placemaking.

The event ended with discussions around the looming general election result and the much anticipated planning reforms expected to follow.

It was great to hear from so many women in our sector, and we look forward to attending and participating in future Speakers’ Café events.
