DLBP is the town planning consultant for Rickman’s Green Village, a brand-new village in West Sussex with a focus on sustainability. Comprising of up to 600 high quality new homes, it is proposed that 180 will be sold or rented at lower than market value to benefit the local community. There will also be land for a new primary school that will serve Rickman’s Green Village and the wider area.
Rickman’s Green Village will include vast green spaces, and will be centred around the farm shop, cafe, retail units, cookery school, glamping and rural enterprise centre proposal for which DLBP recently submitted an application, details of which can be found here. Rickman’s Green Village will be a sustainable and highly desirable place to live, work and visit for those in the surrounding area.
The new village is located within Chichester District, where there is a widening gap between the need for housing and planned supply; Rickman’s Green Village will address this and help meet the growing demand for new housing in the area.
On 12 July 2022 we hosted a public consultation exhibition for local residents, where 96 people attended. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet the local community, and the feedback received from this meeting will help the design team to refine the design of the village.
