In June some of the DLBP team visited Cranbrook, a completely new town in Devon which was one of the first planning applications Dominic Lawson, DLBP Chairman, prepared and worked on from 2001-2004.
The new settlement is now largely built out, with the first houses and a primary school being completed in 2012. Cranbrook rail station, on the London Waterloo-Exeter line, opened in 2015, and is an important transport connection.
Dominic enjoyed seeing the implementation on the ground of the planning work he was part of, and was delighted show the team how Cranbrook had developed its own character and sense of place. The beautiful green spaces weaving through the town also impressed the DLBP team.
